Google Business Profile Reinstatement. Suspended? Here's how we get it back.
A suspended or delisted Google Business Profile stops showing in Maps and the Map Pack overnight, and Google rarely explains why. We diagnose the actual cause, fix what caused it, and file the reinstatement request. No guarantees on timeline — Google controls that, not us.
Google's automated review is opaque, but these are the patterns we see over and over.
Category misuse
Selecting a primary or secondary category the business doesn't genuinely operate in — a common shortcut that Google's system increasingly flags.
Service-area conflicts
A service-area business (SAB) profile that also shows a public address, or a service radius that doesn't match where the business actually works.
Duplicate listings
An auto-generated or previously-abandoned profile for the same business that predates your claim, competing with the one you're actively using.
Edits that trip automated review
A name, address, category, or hours change submitted without supporting evidence — Google's system can suspend first and ask questions later.
Review-gating or fake reviews
Soliciting reviews in exchange for compensation, or a sudden unnatural spike in review volume, both draw automated scrutiny.
Keyword-stuffed business name
Adding a service or location keyword to the business name field (e.g. "Joe's Plumbing – Emergency 24/7 Waukegan") violates Google's guidelines outright.

Common questions
Google Business Profile Reinstatement — Frequently Asked Questions
What we can promise, what we can't, and what the process actually looks like.
Can you guarantee my profile will be reinstated?
No — and any agency that promises a guaranteed reinstatement is not being straight with you. Google controls the review and the decision, not us. What we can guarantee is a real diagnosis of the likely cause, a correctly-filed request with the right supporting evidence, and follow-up until you get an answer.
How long does Google Business Profile reinstatement take?
It varies widely — some cases resolve in days, others take several weeks, and a small number never get a clear answer from Google at all. We do not control Google's timeline and won't promise one. What we control is filing it correctly the first time and following up so it doesn't sit ignored.
Why was my Google Business Profile suspended in the first place?
Most suspensions trace to one of a handful of patterns — category misuse, a service-area setup that conflicts with a physical address, a duplicate listing, or an edit that tripped automated review. See What Actually Triggers a Suspension above for the full list; the free audit tells you which one applies to your case.
What's the difference between a "suspended" and a "disabled" profile?
Google uses both terms loosely, but in practice a suspended profile is hidden from Maps and Search pending review, while a disabled profile has been removed more permanently, often after a policy violation or an unresolved suspension. Both go through the same reinstatement request process.
Can you fix a duplicate listing instead of a suspension?
Yes. Duplicate listings usually come from an auto-generated profile that existed before you claimed your real one. We identify the duplicate, request a merge or removal, and make sure the surviving profile carries your correct information.
Do you offer this on its own, or only with GBP optimization?
On its own. Reinstatement is priced separately from ongoing optimization because the work is different — diagnosis and a Google-facing request rather than profile configuration. Many clients start with reinstatement and add optimization once the profile is back.
Is GMB reinstatement the same as Google Business Profile reinstatement?
Yes. Google renamed Google My Business to Google Business Profile in late 2021, and the reinstatement process is the same product under the new name: the appeal form, the evidence Google asks for, and the review queue have not changed because of the rename. If you are searching for GMB reinstatement, a Google My Business suspension, or a Business Profile that was delisted, this is the service.
Do I need to be near Chicago for this?
No. Reinstatement is paperwork and evidence, and all of it is handled remotely: the diagnosis, the fixes to the profile and your citations, the appeal, and the follow-up. We are based in the Chicago metro and work with profiles anywhere in the US. The only time location matters is when Google asks for proof of a physical address, and we walk you through what to send.
